How to Play Rise of Kingdoms on PC: Official Installation and Sign-In Steps
Rise of Kingdoms has an official PC option. The safe path is simple: start from the official Rise of Kingdoms website, install only the client it provides for your platform, then sign in with the account that already holds your character.
That last step matters. A clean installation can still feel like a reset if you choose a different sign-in method from the one attached to your existing governor.
Before you install: identify the account you need
If you already play on mobile, first check how you normally enter the game and which account is attached to the character you want to continue using. The official PC FAQ describes Windows sign-in through Facebook or Google and says an existing character can be used on both PC and mobile. Account options can change, so use the current choices shown by the official client rather than relying on an old screenshot.
Write down the governor name, kingdom or server, and sign-in method before switching devices. Those details make it much easier to tell whether you reached the correct character after the first launch.
Install from the official Rise of Kingdoms route
- Open the official Rise of Kingdoms website and choose its PC download path when it is available for your region.
- Download the installer only from that official destination. Avoid third-party launchers, repackaged installers, and download pages that request unrelated software.
- Run the installer and allow it to complete its first update before treating a slow first launch as a game problem.
- Open the client and select the sign-in option connected to your existing account.
- Confirm your character details before beginning new tutorial actions or making purchases of any kind.
The official community FAQ currently describes a Windows installer and a Mac route through the App Store for Apple Silicon Macs. Treat that as a starting point, not a permanent platform matrix: availability and installation wording can change by region and client update.
Sign in without creating an accidental second profile
The most common account mistake is not an installation failure; it is entering the game with a different identity and assuming the original city has disappeared.
If the game opens to a fresh introduction, stop before investing time in the new profile. Close the client, review the sign-in method you selected, and try the method connected to your established character. If you cannot identify it, use the current official support route instead of repeatedly creating new profiles.
The official FAQ also says the same character cannot be played on PC and mobile at the same time. Finish or close the active session on one device before attempting to enter on the other.
What to check after the first successful launch
Once the correct character is visible, make three quick checks:
- Confirm the governor name and kingdom are the ones you expected.
- Open the game settings and set a comfortable display mode.
- Let the client finish its update process before judging performance or controls.
For a first-session walkthrough of the city and map, continue with the Rise of Kingdoms beginner guide. If the game is installed but feels awkward to use on desktop, see Rise of Kingdoms PC controls.
If the installer or client does not behave normally
Do not replace files or follow random “fix” videos as a first response. Return to the official source, make sure the download completed, and use the client’s current support or community channel if the problem persists. Our PC launcher troubleshooting guide separates installer, update, startup, and account checks so you can narrow down the symptom first.
Next step
After the PC client is working, the useful question is no longer “what should I download?” It is “how should I use the extra screen space?” The Game Guides hub has the rest of the Rise of Kingdoms cluster, including controls, early city priorities, and resource planning.
