NTE PC Settings and Stutter Troubleshooting Checklist

NTE performance problems are easier to diagnose when you separate a steady low frame rate from a brief hitch, input delay, crash, or slow launch. This checklist uses the official requirements and support guidance as the baseline, then limits changes so you can identify what actually helped.

Identify the symptom

Record whether the issue is a consistent slowdown, a short hitch, a crash, a loading delay, or a launcher failure. Note where it happens and whether it repeats in the same activity. A launcher that cannot update needs a different first check from a client that stutters after loading into the city.

Compare the PC with the official baseline

The official NTE launch FAQ lists these PC requirements:

Component Minimum Recommended
Operating system Windows 10 64-bit or later Windows 10 64-bit or later
Processor Intel Core i7-10700 or equivalent Intel Core i7-12700 or above
Graphics GTX 1660 or Radeon RX 5600 RTX 3060 or Radeon RX 6700 or above
Memory 16 GB RAM 32 GB RAM
DirectX Version 11 Version 12
Storage 70 GB available space 70 GB available space

The current Steam/Epic FAQ lists 16 GB RAM for minimum and 32 GB RAM for recommended systems. Requirements are a support baseline, not a guaranteed FPS result.

Start with the installation drive

The official launch FAQ recommends an SSD and says the installer may need another 60 GB temporarily during extraction; the newer Steam/Epic FAQ lists 70 GB available space for the installed PC configuration. Confirm the drive has room for updates and that it is not reporting errors.

If the client starts slowly, check the installation drive before changing every graphics option. Storage and client state can affect loading independently of the GPU settings.

Change one setting at a time

Record the resolution, display mode, preset, frame cap, and visible graphics options in the current client. Change one item, repeat the same route, and record the result. Do not claim a universal “best” preset without repeatable testing on a defined PC.

If the PC is near the minimum tier, begin with a conservative configuration. If it meets or exceeds the recommended tier and still stutters, investigate software and repeatability instead of assuming a faster GPU will solve every hitch.

Check overlays and background tools

Close capture, overlay, monitoring, VPN, and input-remapping tools one at a time. The official FAQ specifically calls out VPN, proxy, and hosts-file checks for launcher network problems, and identifies certain driver and utility conflicts in its crash guidance.

For recurring crashes, the official FAQ advises updating NVIDIA driver version 595.79 if present, removing MSI Afterburner or RivaTuner Statistics Server, and closing Astrill VPN. These are targeted checks, not a claim that every player has one of those tools.

Use the launcher repair path when appropriate

For a resource-file or network error during launch, the official FAQ recommends restarting the launcher or using Repair files → One-click repair. If repair fails, it gives a clean launcher/game-file reinstall as the escalation path.

For installation issues, use the separate NTE download and login troubleshooting guide. For input problems, use the NTE PC input setup guide.

Collect evidence before contacting support

Record the NTE version, launcher version, Windows version, CPU, GPU, RAM, storage location, driver version, resolution, settings, exact symptom, and any error text. This turns “NTE is lagging” into a report that can be investigated.

Conclusion

Use the official hardware baseline, verify storage and SSD placement, change one setting at a time, and use the launcher’s documented repair path. No FPS number is promised here because RigTactics has not performed repeatable testing on your PC.
